Story
Never one to follow the crowd, Space Group was born to challenge conventions. Recognising the built environment as a huge opportunity to make a significant impact, Space Group is committed to searching for a better way and a better solution every step of the way.
To gain deeper insight into the brand’s core values, we developed a brand manifesto and character that challenged the existing norms and conventions within the sector.
This established a clear brief, providing direction and inspiration for our design team to create an identity for the brand that embodied the qualities of change and progression.
We developed a series of structural elements which when put together created an abstract representation of the letter “S”. The final symbol was animated to symbolise the brand’s ethos of always moving forward, learning and adapting.
The introduction of a distinctive and easily recognisable brand brought significant commercial value to Space Group, helping shift their perception from being a group of unrelated businesses to a unified industry leader.
“Gardiner Richardson attentively followed our objective and demonstrated a clear understanding of our brands desired positioning. They delivered a well-defined brand strategy that has effectively facilitated a deeper understanding of our brand amongst our audience.”
Space Group experienced its best two years commercially, with a 25% increase in profitability. The distinctive brand identity instilled a stronger sense of pride among the Group’s employees, enabling them to have a better understanding of their association with the business and its brand.
This new group brand strategy and identity inspired the launch of the _shift conference. The 2022 conference showcased SPACE architects recent project to over 200 delegates across Europe with speakers from IKEA, Surfers Against Sewage and Earth Shot finalist — Low Carbon Materials.
The event successfully brought together the built environment community to learn, discuss and consider how we adapt to current global challenges.
