Story
Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) became North East Museums in late 2024 to create a new brand identity to better represent the umbrella organisation. It needed to work for both B2C and B2B communications promoting its 12 venues and services.
We consulted with the staff, partners and visitors, which informed the ‘we move you’ brand position. The name was a clear choice – easy to understand, readily searched for online and appropriate for their expansion into Northumberland.
‘Stories from the heart’ was the inspiration for the design system. Flexible yet distinctive, the system is designed to work with the diverse range of content created by the museums, galleries and archives.
Following the unveiling of the new brand, we worked with North East Museums on its first social media campaign to drive visitors across its venues for the February half term break. Working across Facebook and Instagram we developed content that significantly increased followers, web traffic and ultimately delivered a 6% increase in footfall during the half term holiday.
