Being a part of it

Social value is on our minds every day at Gardiner Richardson.

Day to day, week by week, we make choices that match our values. Some of them are small and easy; some of them are complex, and we spend a lot of time thinking it through.

It means we turn down working with a client.
It means we take our time to really understand an issue and the context.
It means we give our time and energy to support others.

We’ve recently joined two communities to support us through these decisions.

Firstly, we have committed to being a Living Wage Employer. This means we’ll continuously review our pay across the business and our supply chain to ensure it meets the standard. We’ve been warmly welcomed into the network, and we’re looking forward to sharing ideas and learning with other LWE businesses, especially at Living Wage Week in November.

Secondly, we’ve achieved the Shine Intermediate Award from the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority. The Shine award recognises our focus on looking after our team as well as the wider community and environment. The NE MSA hosts events across the region to connect like-minded businesses and share best practice.

We’re really looking forward to being part of these national and regional networks to support us in our focus on social value.
